The largest online professional development course to teach formative assessment practices concluded earlier this year, with teachers from seven states participating.

The intensive, online course helped participating teachers improve their formative assessment practices after a six-month program that included collaboration in teams.

Margaret Heritage, a recognized expert in formative assessment, co-created the course for WestEd, which now has plans to commercialize the offering.
