Pearson, a major producer of educational technology and products, will partner with School Improvement Network in an effort that the two companies say will result in a broader array of online professional development and teacher-evaluation tools.

The partnership will result in School Improvement Network’s PD360 library, which the company describes as containing “largest online library of training videos for educators in the world,” being included in Pearson’s Schoolnet, a system devoted to instructional management and educator development.

By including the PD360 library within Schoolnet, schools will be be able to combine all their professional learning activities into a single catalogue, the companies said in a statement this week.

Chet Linton, the chief executive officer and president of School Improvement Network, said that the pairing would help school administrators “a way to focus on systemic improvement by putting research-proven, relevant learning resources at teachers’ fingertips,” said in the companies’ announcement.

Linton told Education Week that the partership will allow School Improvement Network to expand its reach. “Whenever we can find philosophical alignments that make sense, we pursue those aggressively,” he said.

School Improvement Network, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Midvale, Utah, is the developer of the Educator Effectiveness System, a process designed to help teachers improve their practices.
