EdWeek Market Brief's Coverage Wins Top Award for Business Journalism

EdWeek Market Brief has received the top prize for Best Industry Coverage from the Neal Awards, which recognizes publications for outstanding business journalism. 

EdWeek Market Brief’s package of stories, “A Tumultuous Year for the Education Industry,” earned 1st place for best industry coverage for brands with under $3 million in revenue.  

The package featured three stories:  

In addition, EdWeek Market Brief’s package, “Federal Stimulus Aid: Preparing for the End,” was named as a finalist in the category of Best Series for publications with brand revenue of less than $3 million. 

The staff members recognized on that package included Fittes; Staff Writer Alexandria Ng; EdWeek Research Center Director Holly Kurtz; Assistant Research Director Sterling Lloyd; Research Analyst Alex Harwin; Publisher Maurice Bakley; and Designer Liz Yap.

Established in 1955, the Neal Awards recognizes publications in business media covering an array of industries. This year’s entries were initially judged by a panel of 100 experienced industry editors. A second phase of evaluation was conducted by a separate panel of 15 to 18 judges.
