EdWeek Market Brief is hosting a webinar this week to help companies navigate new federal laws around professional development and find the best ways to connect with schools and districts on this issue.

The webinar, “Connecting the Dots on ESSA and PD: What Education Companies Should Know,” is scheduled for Wednesday Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. E.T.

The federal Every Student Succeeds Act revamps requirements around professional development in a big way. It emphasizes innovative approaches to professional development, including job-embedded and collaborative options, while adding new, tiered evidence requirements. In addition, ESSA creates new funding opportunities for companies that educate themselves about the law.

In this webinar, we’ll explore ways the nation’s new K-12 law may apply to your business and what you can do to maximize the opportunities it provides.

I’ll be moderating the event, which will feature two presenters: Stephanie Hirsh, the executive director of Learning Forward, and Stephanie Wood-Garnett, the vice president of policy and advocacy for the Alliance for Excellent Education. Each will bring her deep knowledge of ESSA policy and professional development to the event to help companies understand what educators are looking for when it comes to training and how best to deliver it.

We’ll leave plenty of time for questions from the audience, so tune in and learn from these experts.

The webinar is free for EdWeek Market Brief members. Non-members can take part in either session for $195 apiece. The sessions will also be archived for your continued use and professional development. Register here for this insightful event.
